Me and the boy watched The Amazing Spiderman last night. It wasn’t THAT amazing. It was probably better, in some ways, than the one with Toby Maguire in it, except the guy who played Spiderman wasn’t that cute, except when he was being nervous. Because that’s how you judge the quality of actors. By their cuteness factor.
Actually, I can’t decide which one I liked more (I’m talking about movies now, not actors). I could totally do a lame thing here and start pretending I’m a huge comic book geek who’s read all the comics, but that would be a lie. The only thing I know about spiderman is that he lives with his aunt and uncle, he got bitten by a spider, his uncle died and he now he likes to chase bad guys. And usually he likes girls called Mary Jane except in the new movie there was no Mary Jane, and I don’t know who this new chick is, but eh, she’s kind of confusing. When she wasn’t wearing incredibly short skirts and attempting to be the sexy scientist, she was kind of endearing.
On a serious note, the storytelling of this one was kind of odd. There were scenes that didn’t feel all that useful. Maybe it was setting it up for the sequel or something? Eh. I guess it was more gritty, but Peter just ended up coming across cocky and arrogant. When he wasn’t trying to be super nervous, that is.
Dear Sarah, this blog is not a place for you to rant about other peoples stories. Love, you.
I hit 38k on NaNoWriMo today, which was a bonus goal! I was only aiming for 2.5k but ended up pushing out an extra 500 words. Major woohoo!
I should probably do something more interesting with this blog. All I do is write about NaNoWriMo! I say all I do, despite the fact that I’ve only had this blog for, erm, 3 days.
Because of that, here’s a photograph of me, in order to put a face to the name.
Honestly I’m just updating this right now because I have nothing better to do. I’ve done all my jobs, I’ve studied all my studies, I’ve attacked a giant octopus and done most of my writing nonsense.
Here’s my favourite thing that I’ve written this month for NaNoWriMo, in order to have an actual point to this post:
“Mr Stevenson was wrong about Lyra, though: She didn’t grow out of anything but her clothes.”
Yup, out the entire 33k I’ve written this month, that’s my favourite line so far. It’s not bad or anything, it’s just kind of disappointing that out of all those words, just a sentence makes me happy. But, well, that’s NaNoWriMo for you! A whole month dedicated to writing complete rubbish in order to get a sort of story told.
Maybe I’ll add this random nonsense to my wordcount.
In other unrelated news, look!
This is what I’m currently trying to read. It’s hard to read when you’re falling asleep.
Okay, I’m going to attempt to go to bed now. Goodnight!
Hello, macrocosm! This is a blog post. Welcome to it. I’m not really sure what I’m planning on doing in this place, if I’m completely honest. Every so often I have this thought of “I want to make a new blog” and this is one of those times. If I never update this again, I’m very sorry.
Here, have a picture of a giant, squishable octopus.
Actually, the partial purpose of this blog was to see how far I could get by keeping an entire blog on just my iPad. I blog as well over at everydayanadventure.co.uk but wanted a random informal place to throw things like pictures of octopuses (it’s apparently not “octopi”) and random rawr-y things.
